Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden has once again given up the starting spot, this time to back up Jason Campbell. Weeden has been less than stellar this season and he has yet to progress since the team made him their first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Because of his lack of improvement, the team has decided to give someone else a shot, but Weeden is not ready to give up just yet.
“I hope I get another shot,” Weeden said Friday, via Mary Kay Cabot of theCleveland Plain Dealer. “I hope [it's here]. I’m champing at the bit. You never know. This league is crazy. Whether it’s this Sunday, four Sundays down the road or at the end of December, I’ll be ready.”
Weeden was severely outplayed by Brian Hoyer, who led the Browns on a three-game winning streak, and he will be in serious trouble if Campbell is able to outplay him.
The Browns fans have grown tired with Weeden’s struggles, so if he he wants to get another crack at the starting gig he needs to hope Campbell does not impress anyone.
