The Missouri Tigers have gone from doormat to contender this year in the SEC, and it’s all due to ice cream. Well, I suppose there’s also the play of (now injured) quarterback James Franklin and a defense that leads the conference in interceptions, but I think it’s the ice cream.
Running back Henry Josey, who has rushed for 494 yards and eight touchdowns this year, recently spoke with The Kansas City Star about his tradition of bringing his linemen tasty treats during the team’s weekly film sessions:
I feed them ice cream every Thursday. When I do it, I bring them Snickers ice cream. I bring them sandwiches. I bring them Oreos. I just go in there and grab a whole bunch of different things. When I come in, they’re excited, so that’s the biggest thing.
As we all know, a well-fed lineman is a happy lineman, and it certainly seems like the weekly snack session is working wonders.
The Tigers will play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.
