Missouri Tigers lose backup QB Beckstresser indefinitely

The Missouri Tigers were able to push their record to an impressive 7-0 last weekend with a win over the Florida Gators, and they sit firmly atop the SEC East at this point. They were able to do so with freshman Maty Mauk starting at quarterback in the absence of starter James Franklin who suffered a significant shoulder injury in the win over Georgia two weeks ago and is still out for a while.

Well, head coach Gary Pinkel better cross his fingers that Mauk can stay out of harm’s way because the Tigers have lost his backup now.

In a press release this morning, the school confirmed that backup QB Corbin Beckstresser suffered a sever knee injury in practice last week and had it surgically repaired just yesterday. He will be out indefinitely with that they called a medical meniscus tear.

Missouri has a huge game in the SEC East this week as they try to keep the South Carolina Gamecocks away from their top spot. Whomever will be blocking Jadeveon Clowney just had the pressure turned up a little bit in regards to protecting the quarterback.
