It looks like New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes will be sitting out this Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Holmes has been fighting off a hamstring injury and hasn’t played since September when he said the bye week came at a good time.

“At this point I think the bye week has come at a great time,” Holmes said, via the New York Daily News. “Would give me five, maybe six weeks to get healthy.”

It sounds like Holmes is saying he will sit out till week 11 against the Buffalo Bills. It was a slightly confusing comment considering how far away the bye week is. That led to a test exchange between Holmes and reporters seeking clarification:

"Did he mean to make it sound like he would sit against the Bengals Sunday and Saints in Week 9?“My question was answered the way it was answered,” Holmes said. “I don’t how know you can get confused about the way I answered the question.”Again, does that mean he will be out until the bye?“I didn’t say that,” he said. “Don’t put words in my mouth.”"

Nevertheless, if Holmes is on your fantasy football team, provided you haven’t dropped him after his 10 catch performance through four games, you probably don’t want to start him.
