TCU’s Casey Pachall to be available Saturday against Texas

TCU Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson announced on Friday that quarterback Casey Pachall, who broke his non-throwing arm back on Sept. 7 in the second game of the season, will be available to play on Saturday when the Horned Frogs take on the Texas Longhorns.

The Horned Frogs have struggled in Pachall’s absence, falling to a woeful 111th in the country in total offense. Trevone Boykin has taken most of the snap since Pachall was injured, and the sophomore has throw more interceptions (seven) than touchdowns (five).

Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown was asked if the potential return of Pachall changes the game plan at all. He responded:

It does. Because they’re different, it makes it more difficult to prepare for because you’re going to have more options, quarterback draws and runs with one [Boykin] than you would with Tyler Matthews or Casey Pachall coming off of an injury. It is more difficult for the unknown.

Coverage of the game between the Longhorns and Horned Frogs will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on Fox Sports 1.
