With the San Francisco 49ers in London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, of course some local flavor will enter the mix throughout the week.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh – after the team visited 10 Downing Street, home to the British Prime Minister – says he finds and uses inspiration from the iconic WWII figure, Sir Winston Churchill.

“He’s my favorite figure of all time,” Harbaugh said, according to CSNBayArea.com’s Matt Maiocco. “As the decades go on, the world appreciates his leadership, his character, the titanium in his spine, the iron will of Winston Churchill.”

“So, yeah, (I’m) looking forward to this afternoon and hopefully getting a chance to see his war room. That would be one of the real highlights of my life if I can experience that.”

San Francisco has been making all kinds of stops in London and around England as they prepare for the Jaguars.  When asked for a quote he might use from Churchill to pump up the team, Harbaugh gladly obliged.

“History will be kind to us because we intend to write it,” Harbaugh said.

Of course the actual classic quote is, “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it,” but hey, when dealing with a team setting you have to change it up a little to fit the scenario.
