Oklahoma FB Trey Millard tears knee ligaments, requires surgery

The Oklahoma Sooners grabbed themselves a big conference victory today as they were able to come back and hold off the previously-unbeaten Texas Tech Red Raiders, 38-30. It was a breath of fresh air for the program after that disappointing loss to Texas just a few weeks ago.

But, the victory didn’t come without a loss, as fullback Trey Millard will miss the rest of the season after tearing ligaments in his knee that will ultimately require surgery.

While in today’s world, not much respect is given to the fullback position, Millard is a huge loss for this offense. He was versatile out of the backfield and provided a lot of options for Bob Stoops.

For the time being, junior Aaron Ripkowski will be filling the void left by Millard, which again, is a big one to fill.
