The Miami Hurricanes came into their game today at home against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons with an undefeated record and a number seven ranking in the BCS. Everything seems set up perfectly for when they take a trip to Tallahassee next week to face off against the Florida State Seminoles.
But, the thing is, they need to get Wake Forest out of the way first, something that they’re not succeeding in doing through two quarters of play so far. As a matter of fact, the ‘Canes are down 14-10 at the half.
Wake Forest came right out of the gate and let Miami know that they came to play and will not be taken lightly by driving the ball 79 yards in 16 plays, culminating in a 12-yard touchdown run for running back Josh Harris
About mid-way through the second quarter, QB Tanner Price found his favorite target, Michael Campanaro, for a nine-yard scoring strike that gave the Demon Deacs a 14-3 lead at the time.
Right before the half, however, the ‘Canes looked to get a little life back in them as Stephen Morris and the offense capped off a four-play, 62-yard drive with a 32-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Herb Waters.
Miami will get the ball when the second half begins and we’ll see if they can build off the momentum they grabbed with that scoring drive at the end of the second quarter.
