The Vanderbilt Commodores (4-3, 1-3 SEC) are on an emotional high after a roller-coaster game found them upsetting Georgia last week in a game they had to have. Too bad they don’t get to stay home this week to build on the momentum. The loss of starting quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels (leg) is a major blow for this team and especially on the road will be nearly impossible to overcome.
The Texas A&M Aggies (5-2, 2-2 SEC) are finding out, along with the rest of the big dogs in the SEC, that winning with an injured star at quarterback is difficult. Their 45-41 loss to Auburn last week to Auburn wasn’t good and completely knocked them out of both the SEC and national championship races, but they should be able to bounce back today and the BCS is still there with a strong finish. Johnny Manziel’s shoulder won’t be 100%, so that’s a concern.
This is one of those games that promises to be better than the odds-makers are saying, if (big IF) Manziel can’t go. If he can, and I expect he will being the competitor that he is, the Aggies should run away with it.
