To say the Boston Red Sox hitters have been less than pleased with the strike zone though the first three games of the 2013 World Series would be an understatement.
Of course, it’s not just the Red Sox who have been barking as the St. Louis Cardinals themselves have had some animated moments at the dish, much like the one we saw from Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury in the top of the first inning.
Leading off the game, Ellsbury was struck out by Cardinals starter Joe Kelly, though clearly did not agree with the call from home plate umpire Dana DeMuth, who rang up Ellsbury on the called third strike.
The speedy Red Sox outfielder was not impressed with DeMuth, letting out a massive sigh that would’ve made the big bad wolf from Three Little Pigs envious. As can be seen above, Ellsbury had an animated discussion with DeMuth on his way back to the dugout.
So far, it’s been a World Series to forget for the impending free agent who has one hit through eight at-bat’s in the World Series.
