World Series 2013: Red Sox’s David Ortiz has a magic, invincible bat (GIF)

There aren’t too many teams in Major League Baseball who have a predominantly green uniform. That’s a good thing considering the advertisements behind home plate, especially in the postseason are often nothing more than green screens which allow broadcasting networks to quickly change out the advertisers.

Apparently though, Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz didn’t get the memo.

For some reason, Ortiz decided to put a neon green tape on his bat. I can’t tell you why, considering the Red Sox have no green in their uniform, but I regress. It’s green. It’s on the handle of the bat. It is what it is. It’s also apparently invincible, well, at least for a few moments anyway.

If you’ve been watching tonight, you’ll likely have noticed that every time Ortiz stepped out of the batters box, his hand/bat would turn into part of the advertisement behind him.

Gonna take a stab and say somebody from Fox makes a call and Ortiz won’t have green tape come Game 4.

Invisible? Are you trying to say his bat is invisible? Invincible and invisible are different words. Fuck I hate the Internet.
