AP top 10 remaining schedule, prediction: No. 6 Stanford Cardinal

The AP top 10 is probably a little different than how the BCS top 10 will shake out, but let’s talk about some predictions for what we know at this point. The BCS rankings will be released at 8:30 EST this evening.

No. 6 Stanford Cardinal

Coach David Shaw’s Cardinal are one of the most interesting and physical top 10 teams in the country and have two of the most intriguing games remaining as well.

Nov. 7 – #3 Oregon

Nov. 16 – @ USC

Nov. 23 – Cal

Nov. 30 – Notre Dame

Everybody’s looking at the Oregon game in 10 days, which should be one of the best games we’ll see this season in Palo Alto. Again… in Palo Alto. But I don’t think the Ducks can be beat, Oregon wins the game by 10.

The Cardinal should go in and beat USC, though they may have to hold on to a late lead similar to their victory at OSU. Cal is a cakewalk and also a tune-up for Notre Dame at the end of the season. After losing on a controversial call in South Bend last season, the game will be built up pretty much all week long, but Stanford hasn’t fallen off from last season, ND has.

There’s no reason the Card don’t finish in the top 10 and back in the BCS, but my prediction is as a two-loss team.
