Auburn’s 45-10 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls was marred by quarterback Nick Marshall going down with a shoulder injury in the second quarter. Marshall was replaced by Jeremy Johnson, who completed 10 of his 16 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown.
While Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn didn’t offer any status updates on Marshall after the game, tight end C.J. Uzomah told reporters that Marshall doesn’t expect to miss any time:
Nick said he’ll be fine. He said it was kind of a precautionary thing that he didn’t go back out there. He said he’ll be out there Sunday practicing (AL.com).
Marshall, who also hurt his knee earlier in the year, has played well for the Tigers in 2013. Although his passing number aren’t amazing, he’s put together two 100-yard rushing performance (one in a 30-22 win over Ole Miss and the other in the 45-41 upset of Texas A&M).
The 7-1 Tigers will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks next weekend. We’ll be bringing you more news on Marshall as the info is made available.
