Jerry Jones says DeMarco Murray could have played for Dallas Cowboys
By Bryan Rose
The Dallas Cowboys were pretty putrid running the ball today, though, that clearly wasn’t their issue in regards to their loss to the Detroit Lions this afternoon, which was attributed by defensive lapses.
Still, having Murray in the lineup would have given the Cowboys another weapon who may have prevented the Lions from ever being in a position to win.
Of course, it’s all Monday morning quarterbacking (or running backing, if you will) now, but owner Jerry Jones says DeMarco Murray could have played Sunday and seemed a bit shocked that he didn’t:
"“I think DeMarco Murray could have gone,” Jones said after the Cowboys’ 31-30 loss to the Lions. “I don’t know what risk we would have taken with him, but he could have gone.”"
If anything, it’s good news for the Cowboys’ immediate future as Murray, who practiced (although limited) this past week should be ready to go for the Cowboys’ Week 9 contest against the Minnesota Vikings.
Joseph Randle, who started in place of Murray rushed 14 times for 29 yards.
