Ryane Clowe injury update
The New Jersey Devils are still waiting for Ryane Clowe to make any significant progress while recovering from a head injury. He caught an elbow to the head against the Winnipeg Jets on October 13 and hasn’t been back out on the ice since then. Certainly not good news for a player that suffered three separate head injuries last year alone.

It’s unclear whether or not the Devils would be in better shape with Clowe in the lineup. The team has had issues gelling with all the new faces trying to come together, and have thus far been wholly ineffective as a unit. New Jersey is 2-5-4, and only appear to be in better shape than they are because of their four “loser points.” They’re 25th in the league are appear to be a lotto team right now, which is awful news since the Devils won’t be able to make their first-round pick due to the cap circumvention ruling with Ilya Kovalchuk. Ah yes, another gift that keeps on giving. Clowe has a mind-numbing four years left on his contract after this season, and is set to make $4.85 million for the duration of the deal. Which is how much James Neal and Ryan Kesler make, in case you were curious.
