While a handful of teams have dipped their feet into the NFL trade deadline pool, a few haven taken a plunge, this according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.
CBS’ NFL insider says both the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns have been among the most active teams in regards to the upcoming NFL trade deadline, which will expire this coming Tuesday, October 29th.
While the Browns have been getting phone calls for their players, the 49ers have been doing the opposite, hoping to get a bit more help at the wide receiver position.
San Francisco recently came out and suggested that they were content with their core group of receivers, though with Mario Manningham and Michael Crabtree still likely to be limited after their returns, the 49ers may be looking for some insurance. However, they may want to increase their offers if they want to realistically want to get something done:
The Browns and 49ers have been among the most active clubs leading up the deadline, sources said. The 49ers have shopped guys near the bottom of their roster, like Baldwin and Nnamdi Asomugha, according to league sources.
