From the Associated Press,
Logan Couture got his second goal of the game in the San Jose Sharks’ 2-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night when a third-period dump-in took an unexpected bounce off the glass and landed on his stick. Couture made no mistake in front of the gaping net.
Regardless of how the puck got in, Couture’s second goal helped bring the Sharks’ lead to 2 goals, and that’s exactly how they won. Canadiens goalie Carey Price had an impressive night against one of the offensively dominating teams in the league, despite giving up two goals which were the deciding factor.
“It’s not the way you want to get scored on,” said Price, who made 35 saves on the night. “It’s the way it bounces sometimes. They’re a good team. That’s what they do. They’re a very structured team and they played a perfect road game today.”
On the other side of the ice was Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi. Niemi finished the night with a shutout, his second of the season, and 22 saves.
“When you’re confident and when you can be patient, sometimes just wait for the puck to get to you, it gives you more time to react,” Niemi said. “I’m feeling like that right now.”
