Brad Boyes was supposed to be a healthy scratch tonight when the Florida Panthers took on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Scottie Upshall was to take the place of Boyes, but Tomas Fleischmann is too sick to go on for Florida tonight. So the lineup carosal continues for the Panthers prior to the matchup with Tampa.

So much for making a statement on Boyes and his lack of defensive awareness. Instead, Florida will be forced to play without their most consistent forward against a surging Lighting team that has won its last two games and has scored eight goals total in those contests.
Players like Aleksander Barkov and even Boyes and Upshall will need to step up in Fleischmann’s absence. He’ll be sorely missed on the power play in particular, where he’s always dangerous with a one timer from the circle. Although he was viewed as a risky addition back in 2011, there hasn’t been a more steady player or producer in Florida over the last few years.
Its first game Fleischmann has missed since joining Panthers in summer of 2011 #flapanthers

That’s a might impressive stat considering he was let go by the Colorado Avalanche because of his history with injury.
