Browns lose Travis Benjamin to torn ACL

Yet again, the Cleveland Browns have lost a key player to a torn ACL. The latest injury follows the Browns loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 and the player is wide receiver/return specialist Travis Benjamin, who is one of the most dynamic players on the team’s roster. The injury reportedly happened during the third quarter of the game.

Benjamin had the ability to use his speed to wreak havoc on both offense and special teams, but now he will need to work on rehabbing the injury and working towards full strength.

Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski confirmed the injury and reminded us all just how much he meant to the team’s attack.

“Travis obviously is a big part of what we do and has been in terms of return game,” Chudzinski said, via ESPN. “He’s explosive and has the speed and ability to make a big play.”

Without Benjamin in the line up, the Browns will need to rely more heavily on Davone Bess, who was less than impressive during this past week’s game. Bess made a habit of putting the ball on the turf and dropping the ball in crucial situations, so the fans won’t be exactly thrilled that he will now be their primary return man and more involved in the offense.
