After Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury, you didn’t have to stay in a Holiday Inn Express to know things weren’t looking good.

Things got worse after Vick admitted that he heard a ‘pop’ in the hamstring he had already hurt weeks earlier, so while we await MRI results, it sounds like no matter what the case, Vick won’t be seeing the field come Week 9.

Per head coach, Chip Kelly:

"“Matt is healthy, so that’s a positive,” Kelly said. “I would think Mike would not be ready to go, and it depends on where Nick is. So we’ll know early in the week which two guys we got to prepare for, one and two. Our first day of practice is [Tuesday]. We’ll have a good understanding today. I know Nick will come in today and meet with [trainer] Chris Peduzzi and our doctors, and we’ll have a good understanding of where Nick is this week and what’s his availability.”"

With Vick ailing and Nick Foles dealing with a concussion, the Eagles were forced to turn to rookie Matt Barkley, who well, was nothing short of awful. Hopefully Foles will be recovered in time for the Eagles’ matchup against the Oakland Raiders this coming Sunday.
