Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas went down with an injury in the game against the Washington Redskins, and after the game revealed that today he would be getting an MRI to diagnose the extent of the injury:

But the initial results from the MRI today have been negative, according to Adam Schefter:

Thomas confirmed it wasn’t the dreaded high-ankle sprain:

Thomas’ breakout this season has come in large part because the last two season have been almost completely ruined by ankle injuries, so the fact that he suffered an injured ankle Sunday is scary for his outlook. The timing of the bye week helps tremendously and enhances the chances he’ll play in two weeks.

Through eight games, Thomas has caught 39 passes for 451 yards and eight touchdowns.
