If you think Mark Helfrich and his Oregon Ducks are excited about having jumped Florida State in the latest BCS standings, think again. When asked about being ranked second in the country after being ranked third last week, Helfrich was blunt:

All those numbers will change.

Like we were talking about last night, somebody else of an opponent’s strength of schedule’s strength of schedule doesn’t matter how good of a Tuesday we have. All that stuff doesn’t matter playing Oct. 27 or for a couple more months, none of that matters at all.

We just need to worry about ourselves (Oregon Live).

Helfrich and his Ducks have a bye this week, but then they will go on the road to take on a one-loss Stanford Cardinal team that beat the Ducks in Eugene last year. The Cardinal are currently ranked fifth in the BCS standings and are coming off a 20-12 win against the Oregon State Beavers.
