The Miami Dolphins lost wide receiver Brandon Gibson during the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. The torn ligament in his knee has ended his season and opened up the possibility that the Dolphins trading for a wide receiver to fill the now vacant roster spot.
General manager Jeff Ireland could chose to promote a receiver from their practice squad, Nate Palmer or Ryan Spadola. Palmer was signed last week.
If the Dolphins decided trade for a receiver there would be several options. New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks and Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon aren’t two of them though, according to Armando Slaguero of the Miami Herald.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt could be an option and wasn’t ruled out however. Of course the Dolphins could be content with their pass catching duo of Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline.
Dolphins have lost WR Brandon Gibson for the season. But don’t expect them to be in the market for Josh Gordon or Hakeem Nicks, source says.
