Samsung becomes official handset, tablet, and TV of the NBA

We have previously passed along news of Samsung becoming the official smartphone of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, which means all of the athletes at the games will receive free Samsung Galaxy Note III’s, but now the technology company is becoming even more involved in the sports world.

In a recent announcement, the NBA has announced that Samsung has become the official handset, tablet and television of the league. Samsung will also hold the same honor in the WNBA and NBA D-League.

The announcement came on Monday morning:

You may ask yourself, why Samsung?

We have two words for your answer: LeBron James.

The Miami Heat star has been very involved with Samsung promotions in the past, which have been an overwhelming success, so it is only natural that the company is ready to take the next step and continue to improve their partnership with the association.
