Game 1 of the 2013 World Series didn’t start so well for Adam Wainwright. Game 5 isn’t starting much better as David Ortiz greeted the 19-game winner with an RBI double in the first inning, giving the Red Sox a one-run advantage.

After second baseman Dustin Pedroia hit a hanging curveball just moments earlier, Ortiz (who is now 9 for 12 in the Fall Classic) hit a screaming rocket down the first base line, past Allen Craig.

Craig, who was a late addition to the lineup has been dealing with a foot injury, though I’m not sure even a healthy defender could have got a glove on that ball.

The RBI was Ortiz’s sixth of the series, though, if not for Carlos Beltran he would have a handful more as it was Beltran who stole a would-be grand slam in Game 1.

Ortiz historically is one of the best postsesason players of all-time, a trend that has continued during the 2013 playoffs.
