The St. Louis Cardinals were hopeful that at some point during the World Series, they would be able to play Allen Craig in the field. That won’t be the case as the Cardinals, who are playing their final home game of the season, will leave Craig on the bench as he is still not completely healthy recovering from his foot injury.

Meanwhile for the Red Sox, Mike Napoli, who has missed the previous two games with the lack of designated hitter will be regulated to bench duty yet again. Jonny Gomes, who hit a three-run home run in Game 4, will start for Shane Victorino who is still out with back spasms.
