Marshall Henderson to be suspended for three regular-season games

Ole Miss announced on Tuesday that senior guard Marshall Henderson will be suspended for three games this upcoming season. Henderson will miss the game against Troy on November 8, the game against Auburn on January 9, and the game against Mississippi State January 11. He also won’t play in the exhibition game against South Carolina-Aiken this Saturday.

Henderson released the following statement about the situation:

I want to thank Coach [Andy] Kennedy, [athletic director] Ross Bjork and the university for giving me an opportunity to rejoin the team. This has been a difficult time for me, and I appreciate this chance. My teammates and I are looking forward to defending our SEC championship (ESPN).

Henderson led the SEC last season with 20.1 points per game. He also led the country in most time, energy, and column inches wasted on dissecting his antics. The second Henderson steps on the floor this year, expect the hand-wringing and pearl-clutching to be reignited. Goodie. It’ll be a blast!
