Cincinnati at Memphis: Game preview, odds and prediction

Yes, it’s a Wednesday evening and, yes, the NBA did start back up last night. However, there will still be college football on your television this evening as we’ve hit the part of the year where weekday games are sometimes among the most exciting of the week, as far as excitement on the field goes at least.

Tonight, the Cincinnati Bearcats travel to Memphis to take on the Tigers in an American Athletic Conference match up.

Cincinnati comes in to the game at 5-2 on the season and ranked fourth in the conference. It hasn’t been quite the first year that many Bearcats fans had hoped for new head coach Tommy Tuberville after he abruptly left Texas Tech to come up north.

The Bearcats were seen by some in the preseason as maybe the biggest threat to Louisville in the conference. A good portion of that not working out could also be attributed to the loss of dual-threat QB Munchie Legaux, who went down with a season-ending knee injury earlier this year.

Memphis, on the other hand, has had an even worse 2013. As a matter of fact, if they can somehow upset the Bearcats tonight, it’ll be their first conference win of the season and will move to 2-5 in 2013.

Date: Oct. 30

Time: 8pm ET

Location: Memphis, TN

Stadium: Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium

Odds: Cincinnati -3

Prediction: Memphis has been able to hold their own lately, and actually rank 13th in the FBS in total defense. But, in the end, the speed on the outside for Cincinnati should be a little too much to overcome.

Cincinnati 28, Memphis 21
