The Miami Heat celebrated their 2013 Championship last night and it looks like that emotional night took the wind out of their sails early. They dominated the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose last night, winning by 12 points.
Possibly expecting an easy game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Heat found themselves down early. The Sixers raced out to 19-0 lead in the first quarter before the Miami Heat finally scored a bucket. During that run there was an emphatic dunk from Evan Turner on Heat superstar LeBron James. It is unusual that LeBron is on the receiving end of one of these dunks, usually he is the one doing the dunking.
The Heat fought back though. At the end of the first quarter the score was 33-4, Sixers. In the second quarter the Heat went on a 14-4 run of their own to narrow the gap. The Heat can’t be counted out, even with an early big lead. They can turn it on and start scoring points when they need to.
