The hits just keep coming for the Florida Gators.
The Gators have already lost several key contributors, including their best player, defensive tackle Dominique Easley, their quarterback, Jeff Driskel, and their running back, Matt Jones.
Now they’re going to lose starting left tackle D.J. Humphries for at least two weeks and he could be out as long as a month.
According to Florida head coach Will Muschamp, the 6’5, 285 lb. Humphries sprained the MCL in his left knee during practice Monday.
Humphries bassically became an every day starter before the season began because redshirt junior offensive tackle Chaz Green tore his labrum before the season began.
Tyler Moore, a Nebraska transfer, will move from right tackle to left tackle and massive junior college transfer Trenton Brown will start at right tackle.
The Gators got new life when the Missouri Tigers lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks last Saturday, but a loss to the rival Georgia Bulldogs Saturday would take them out of the SEC East picture for good.
The Gators and the Dawgs will kickoff from Jacksonville, Florida at 3:30 pm EST. The game is on CBS.
