After taking a high stick to he face Tuesday night against the Flyers, Ducks forward Teemu Selanne left the game with a bloody mouth. From ESPN,

Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn caught the 22-year veteran in the face in the third period, sending Selanne down on the corner ice. Selanne skated off on his own power and headed straight to the locker room.

Selanne has been sent back home in California to get oral surgery, because he lost multiple teeth in the incident. Anaheim will now have to continue their road trip when they take on the Boston Bruins, but without Teemu Selanne.

The Ducks are currently 10-3-0 on the season, and would love to have Selanne back as soon as possible. Fellow Ducks player, defenseman Hampus Lindholm, talked about Selanne to ESPN after the game on Tuesday against the Flyers.

“He’s a great athlete and a great person, just great to have around.”
