Week 9 fantasy football outlook: New York Jets TE Jeff Cumberland

Tight end Jeff Cumberland has been a nice revelation for both the New York Jets and fantasy football owners. He took over as the team’ No. 1 TE with Kellen Winslow suspended, and had his breakout performance in Week 5 against the Falcons when he caught three passes for 79 yards and a TD.

Since then, Cumberland has eight catches for 109 yards and zero touchdowns over his last three games for the Jets.

And now, he now is dealing with a concussion that has his availability in question for Sunday’s game vs the New Orleans Saints:

Cumberland only played 30-of-67 snaps against Cincinnati, catching one pass on two targets for nine yards. That’s not the ideal kind of production you want from even a backup TE you’re playing if your No. 1 option is injured or on his bye week.

Cumberland is now a player you need to drop in every league, and the only roster he should remain on is in deep dynasty leagues.
