It appears the magical ride taken by St. Louis Cardinals starter Michael Wacha this season is quickly derailing.

After only giving up one run prior to the World Series, Wacha gave up two runs in Game 2 and is quickly unraveling in Boston tonight as the Red Sox have now plated their fourth run against the Cardinals rookie in just three innings of work this evening.

Just an inning after Shane Victorino hit a bases clearing double against Wacha, shortstop Stephen Drew, who is known more for his glove than his bat hit a screaming drive out to center field which cleared the short fence, giving Boston a 4-0 lead.

Boston, who was (outside of a two-run David Ortiz home run) stumped by Wacha in Game 2 has elected to swing early and often at Wacha’s pitches, especially fastballs – something they didn’t do in Game 2.

Drew’s home run was his first of the Fall Classic and his second RBI through six games.
