The American Music Awards announced today that country duo Florida Georgia Line and British pop band One Direction will be performing at this year’s American Music Awards.
Both of these acts will be making their debut performance on the 2013 American Music Awards, which will be held at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. on Sunday, November 24th.
In a statement to ABC.com, Larry Klein, the longtime producer of the American Music Awards told of their excitement of these two bands making their inaugural performances this year.
“Florida Georgia Line and One Direction have made an incredible impact over the past three years,” said Larry Klein. “We are thrilled to have them make their AMA debut performances this year.”
Florida Georgia Line has found themselves nominated for four awards this year including New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for ‘Cruise’ featuring Nelly, Favorite Country Band, Duo, or Group, and Favorite Country Album for ‘Here’s to the Good Times’.
One Direction is nominated for two awards, Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for ‘Take Me Home’.
The two bands will be joining the previously announced Miley Cyrus and Imagine Dragons as performers this year.

The 2013 American Music Awards will air on Sunday, November 14th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. EST on ABC.
