'The real' Gareth Bale receives praise from Ancelotti

Gareth Bale had a coming out party of sorts in Real Madrid’s 7-3 win over Sevilla on Wednesday. Bale scored the first two goals of the game and added a pair of assists. Madrid fans have been waiting for Bale to have a game like this, and finally that monkey is off his back.

“Tonight everyone saw the real Gareth,” Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said, via ESPN FC. “He played really well, showing fantastic skills. It takes time [to adapt] but it was a necessity. Now he doesn’t have problems physically and he is improving his confidence, so he will be very important for us in the future.”

It was a high scoring game, Cristiano Ronaldo added a hat-trick with one goal coming from the spot. Karim Benzema scored a pair of goals as well.

“It was a bit of a crazy game, we started very well and were 3-0 up,” Ancelotti added. “We then lost a bit of concentration and balance and the game was alive again. Offensively we played very well, we scored a lot of goals. We had a lot of good individual performances, especially up front.”

Madrid has to feel confident going into the weekend and Champions League group play next week.
