Alexander Gustafsson was set to fight in England on March 8 against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the main event as he searched to return to a title shot, but Gustafsson and his camp learned some bad news.

To put it simply, it’s another fight and another Nogueira withdraw.

That’s right, Lil Nog said he was forced to withdraw from the game due to a back injury that will leave him ineffective.

From MMA Fighting:

“Minotouro” has withdrawn from the fight due to a lingering back injury, sources close to the situation confirmed with before White also confirmed the news.

White added that there are no plans for Gustafsson’s next fight yet. Gustafsson’s team also said they heard the news but didn’t know who the Swedish fighter will draw next.

It’s unfortunane to see Gustafsson now without an opponent, but it does give us hope that the UFC could finally schedule Alexander Gustafsson vs. Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight title later this year.

That’s the fight all fans want to see and/or hear, so let’s see what happens.
