Levante is off to a solid start in La Liga play. They sit in seventh place with 16 points just on the edge of a European tournament spot. Real Betis has had a horrible start to their season. They sit in the relegation zone in 19th place with eight points. In their last La Liga match they lost 5-0 to Atletico Madrid.

“We care what happens tomorrow not yesterday, it does not matter, you cannot change (it),” Real Betis coach Pepe Mel said, via ESPN FC. ”Tomorrow is important. What I want is to talk about Levante – words do not win games. What matters is that, what happens tomorrow and I am confident in the players.”

“Seville is a big soccer city, you all know the rivalry there between Sevilla and Betis and the passion there for the teams,” said Levante coach Joaquin Caparros, who used to coach Betis’ rivals Sevilla.

“Pepe Mel is a coach who has had a terrible time with Betis who are now in Europe. They have had very difficult seasons but they are improving and I know the passion they have there for football.”
