The first of two match ups in a doubleheader tonight on ESPN’s Thursday Night College Football brings us a pairing of two teams in the American Athletic Conference on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. This evening the South Florida Bulls at 2-5 will travel to take on the 6-1 Houston Cougars.

After dominating Rutgers 49-14 last weekend, Houston is firing on all cylinders, to say the least. On the season, quarterback John O’Korn has played the part of the stereotypical Houston QB by throwing for over 1800 yards and 19 touchdowns on the year, including five scoring tosses in that win over Rutgers.

South Florida hasn’t had the same fortunes this year, but they’ve shown some life at times. They were blown off the field by Louisville last Saturday, but were on a two-game winning streak before that. Considering how extremely horrid the year started out for first-year head coach Willie Taggart, that little streak was something positive to hang their hats on.

Date: Oct. 31

Time: 7 pm ET

Location: Houston, TX

Stadium: Reliant Stadium

TV: ESPN

Odds: Houston -19

Prediction: That point spread in this one may be being a little generous. This one might get out of hand early on. The South Florida secondary doesn’t have near enough talent in the secondary to keep up with the Houston passing attack. The Cougars should run away with this one easily.

Houston 41, South Florida 17
