San Antonio Spurs’ veteran big man Tim Duncan was injured in the Spurs’ 101-94 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night.

Duncan suffered what the Spurs are calling a chest contusion.

Duncan was struck by an inadvertent elbow during the third quarter of Wednesday night’s game.

Before being injured, the future Hall-of-Famer scored three points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out two assists in 17 minutes of action.

Duncan had a “CT scan Thursday morning in San Antonio that confirmed the chest contusion.”

The 6’11, 250 lb. 16-year veteran out of Wake Forest, will travel with the team as the begin a three-game road trip. The trip starts Friday night in Los Angeles against the Lakers. That game tips off at 10:30 pm EST and can be seen on ESPN.

Duncan is listed as doubtful for Friday night’s game.

On Saturday night, they’ll be in Portland to take on the Trail Blazers and on Tuesday, they’ll travel to Denver to battle the Nuggets. They’ll head back home Wednesday to face the Phoenix Suns.
