Syracuse kicker Ryan Norton suspended following arrest

For Syracuse’s game on Saturday against Wake Forest, the Orange will have to look to their punters to handle all kicking duties. This comes into effect after the team’s usual kicker, Ryan Norton, was suspended by the team following an arrest last week. Norton was charged with resisting arrest and underage drinking.

So who does that leave for Syracuse? Punters Riley Dixon and Jonathon Fisher will be responsible for the kicks as well as the puns, and it has been reported that the will share duties.  According to ESPN,

Dixon, the starting punter, will handle kickoffs. Both will handle field goal attempts. Neither has attempted a field goal in college.

Syracuse finds itself in this bind after veteran Ross Krautman, the starting kicker going into the season, was lost for the year with a hip injury after Week 2.

On the season, Norton has made four of five field goal attempts and 15 of 16 extra points.

It should be an interesting game for Syracuse to say the least.
