Both the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs are still searching for their next big league manager.
Detroit has shown some interest in their own bench coach Lloyd McClendon while the Cubs have gone through two interviews with Padres bench coach Rick Renteria.
Names keep getting thrown in the mix for both teams but both of these teams are due to make their decision’s soon.
Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo helped boost his resume after the Red Sox won the World Series.
“I think that whoever gets to sit in that seat is going to be in a really good situation and one that has stability and a long-term plan in place.” Torey Lovullo told the Chicago-SunTimes.
According to Tom Gage of The Detroit News, the Tigers will hold their interview with Lovullo sometime today. They’ve also spoken with Chicago Cubs front-runner Rick Renteria, so both teams will more than likely be in a neck and neck race with each other to hire one of these two candidates.
