After parting ways with the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season, nose tackle Jay Ratliff has been searching hard for a new home. While Ratliff is still a few weeks away from making a return to the field, he has been meeting with a handful of teams.

Ratliff previously met with the Kansas City Chiefs and he recently made a stop on Friday afternoon in South Beach where he met with the Miami Dolphins.

From Adam Caplan of ESPN and CSN Philly:

The Dolphins are no strangers to adding former Dallas Cowboys players thanks to the connection with general manager Jeff Ireland, so that little bit of familiarity could be what attracts Ratliff to the Dolphins if he feels that he will get a chance to play significant time.

Ratliff has also previously met with the Chicago Bears.

Once he is healthy enough to return, it’s safe to say that he will not be out of work for too long.

With Gibson on IR, Miami has an open slot. Ratliff would be a great signing, and starks or soliai will probably sign elsewhere next year.

Soliai has proven to be one of the best and most durable NT’s in the NFL. If the Dolphins let him go they are committing defensive suicide.
Also, they only have 3 receivers on their roster. They have to get at least one to replace Gibson.
