At last week’s UFC Fight Night 30 event, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida was victorious in his middleweight debut with a huge knockout win over good friend and training partner Mark Munoz.

After his win, many were wondering who Machida’s next opponent would be and the finger pointed to fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort.

However, Machida’s camp didn’t seem confident that Belfort would accept the fight and now he won’t get the opportunity. Machida is currently slated for a February 8 event in Brazil where he will face off against fellow contender Gegard Mousasi.

Mousasi called out Machida on Twitter and he was able to get his wish.

Mousasi was previously competing at 205-pounds in the UFC, so this bout against Machida will be his first at 185-pounds.

A win for either man means a big jump up the middleweight ladder, so there will be plenty on the win as new faces continue to join the ranks.

Who do you think will be able to get the win between Machida and Mousasi? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts and predictions.
