North Carolina State gets new midfield logo; rips off ECU (Photo)

The North Carolina State Wolfpack play host to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday in a match up of two struggling teams. When the teams face off at Carter Finley Stadium, there will be a brand new logo at midfield.

North Carolina State generally has the same logo from their helmets at the 50-yard line, but now they’ll change things up for the game to stake claim to the state of North Carolina.

Here is their updated midfield logo:

The midfield logo has been confirmed, but there is one problem.

The updated Wolfpack logo is a blatant rip off of the East Carolina midfield logo. You can see a comparison of the two midfield logos below, via Backing The Pack:

East Carolina fans are going to have a field day with this one.

But hey, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You would just like to believe N.C. State would be above imitating ECU.

    Above? It’s that elitist attitude toward ECU that makes ECU students, alumni and fans dislike programs like NCSU and UNC. What has your program achieved that puts them above ECU? That’s a rhetorical question of course as we all know the answer is NOTHING.
