Steve Nash will start for the Lakers, Tim Duncan will sit out for the Spurs

Tonight the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs will go head to head for the first time this season tonight.

Veteran point guard Steve Nash, who has been dealing with a number of issues over the past month will be in the starting lineup for the Lakers. Those issues being a neck, shoulder, ankle and hamstring problems.

His age is catching up to him.

On the opposite side, veteran Tim Duncan will not be in the lineup tonight for the San Antonio Spurs with a chest contusion. With Duncan sitting out, Boris Diaw will get a start in place of Duncan.

Duncan doesn’t have any broken ribs, which is a good thing so right now he’ll be listed as day to day but should be back very soon.

Tonight will be the first time both Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant will be sitting out as both of their teams go head to head for the first time since the 1996 season. A year that has a lot of Hall of Fame players in the future.
