There was some hope earlier this week that All-Pro defensive back Aqib Talib would suit up for the New England Patriots’ Week 9 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, though according to ESPN Boston that is not likely to be the case:

"Aqib Talib: Cornerback has missed the last two games with a hip injury and has been limited in practice. While he appears to be moving better in practice, perhaps the Patriots would lean toward keeping him out one more week heading into the bye with the big-picture in mind."

Pittsburgh has been relatively woeful all season, so if there was a game for Talib to miss, this seems to be a good choice.

Granted, you’d prefer to have one of the best defenders in the NFL on the field but New England looks to be taking a more conservative and cautious route with Talib, which will likely pay off later in the season.

If he does not play, barring a setback, Talib should be ready to return by Week 11.
