Georgia Bulldogs star running back Todd Gurley was returning to action after suffering a high ankle sprain earlier in the year, but he left the game during the first half against Florida with another ankle injury that was unrelated to the previous issue.

It was the left ankle this time around that Gurley was favoring, but there was no clear indication of when the injury occured.

Gurley was running towards the sideline before his left ankle awkwardly hit the ground and bounced off the turf. There was no confirmation that was the specific play he was injured on, but from that point on he lacked the acceleration that makes him a serious threat to score on every play.

The Georgia standout was eventually assisted to the locker room by the training staff and there has been no further update on the injury. Hopefully it will not be significant and force him to miss another few weeks of action.

We will update you with more information as it becomes available, so stay tuned.
