The New York Knicks are taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Forward-center Andrea Bargnani received a pass in the corner near the baseline. He drove past Kevin Love to the rim and went for a reverse dunk on the other side of the rim.
The only problem? The ball didn’t go into the rim. It is pretty embarrassing by NBA player standards, but he came closer than I ever could.
Bargnani and the Knicks find themselves down 39-19 at the end of the first quarter, a staggering score. The Timberwolves already have two players in double digits while know Knick has more than 5 points.
Bargnani, who is getting the nickname “Air Bargnani” on Twitter, is 1 for 5 shooting and has only two points. Carmelo Anthony is also 1 of 5 shooting with two points in the first quarter.
There is still plenty of time for the Knicks to get back into this game, but some more ‘air dunks’ from Bargnani won’t help. Of course with 1 of 5 shooting you’d probably prefer him to keep trying to dunk.
