Last night, Chris Fowler announced via Twitter that country singer–and Florida State alum–Jake Owen would be the celebrity picker on College GameDay on Saturday. Needless to say, as I follow a lot of Florida State fans on twitter, most were either angry, confused or both.

Some were angry because there were, in their minds, some better people that were in Tallahasse that could’ve provided a little better insight into the college football action.

For example, Florida State legend Peter Warrick was in town for this huge Miami-FSU showdown. The cries for him to take the gig were rampant.

Some even thought that maybe, with him making his return to Doak Campbell Stadium last week, that former head coach Bobby Bowden should be on the set making the picks.

The bottom line, though, is that Jake Owen was who they chose and we were supposed to deal with it, no matter how little we thought the country star knew about college football.

Apparently, he was more qualified than a lot of people thought as Owen went a perfect 8-for-8 with his picks on the day, and he wasn’t worried to let everyone know about it:
