Miami Hurricanes RB Duke Johnson in cast following Florida State loss

It was a rough night for the seventh-ranked Miami Hurricanes on Saturday as they went on the road to take on the third-ranked Florida State Seminoles. After beginning the season unbeaten, they were brought back down to earth by arguably one of the best teams in the country. In the end, the ‘Canes lost the game 41-14.

But, that wasn’t their only loss on the night.

Late in the third quarter, Miami running back Duke Johnson went down after a run with a leg injury. He was helped off the field and then was carted back to the locker room for an evaluation. In the fourth, ABC sideline reporter Tom Rinaldi reported the injury as a sprain.

It may be something more serious than a sprain, though, as Johnson was seen with a cast around his right leg after the game:

For the ‘Canes, this would be terrible news, especially since–even with the loss–they’re still in the driver’s seat to win the ACC Coastal Division and get another crack at the Seminoles come December.
